KIBO Residences

KIBO is a ground-up condominium of eight residences on Hope Street, shaped by the studio fws_work around a single idea: wabi-sabi — the beauty of imperfection — held in built form. Lime-washed plaster and exposed brick sit against wide-plank European white oak; ceilings hold above ten feet; in the townhouses, twin atriums rise nearly twenty feet, one in hand-troweled cement, the other lined floor to ceiling in oak, so light moves across the surfaces through the day.

The homes range from one to three bedrooms, 931 to 2,458 square feet, most with private outdoor space — a front garden, a planted yard, a terrace above the neighborhood. Kitchens are built around sculptural islands and equipped with Fisher & Paykel; baths are finished in lime wash, with heated floors. Warm plaster, natural light, restraint held throughout.
